During advent 2019, St Margaret’s launched its first ‘Virtual Crib Appeal’ to help raise funds online as restrictions meant many of our supporters were unable to visit local churches to donate in-person to our Crib Appeal collection boxes.
For the past 65 years, St Margaret’s has relied on the generosity of the Catholic community in the Glasgow, Paisley, Motherwell and Galloway dioceses donating to our collection boxes. The Crib Appeal has always been our primary source of funding for our Extended Post Adoption Support Services (EPASS) and has raised tens of thousands of pounds each year. As so many churches had to remain closed in December, we expect to lose out on the majority of these vital donations.
Our online Virtual Crib Appeal raised a total of £3,740, and we are still receiving some donations from churches which were able to remain open for limited times and shall share that update as soon as we have the total. We want to thank everyone who donated virtually or in-person; each donation means so much.
This year, we will be fundraising in new and creative ways so that we can raise enough funds to continue to provide our services for our adopted children and adoptive families across Scotland. Keep an eye on our social media for the latest information on how you can support St Margaret’s
You can donate via our Donate Page or by cheque posted to 26 Newton Place, Glasgow, G3 7PY and for more information call 0141 332 8371.
