The Promise Scotland

The Promise Scotland new route map

In 2020 The Scottish Government published The Promise in 2020, stating that all care experienced young people will grow up ‘loved, safe, and respected.’

They issued a further route map in June of this year, setting out how they plan to achieve this.

At St Margaret’s we are working to ensure we are keeping The Promise to our children, and their siblings and families, and we have our own dedicated Promise Keepers.

St Margaret’s have their own Promise Action Plan which details how across all our services we are committed to Keeping The Promise for our children and families.

As part of this work, St Margaret’s is also a member of Stand up for Siblings. This is a Scotland-wide collaboration between several child welfare, children’s rights and legal organisations and academics to protect the rights of brothers and sisters in Scotland who have experienced separation due to being care experienced.
